Jounaling

Journaling is a simple way of communication. It may seem one sided. Who's gonna read it, right? Well, that makes it easier to write down whatever comes into your mind. The neat thing about journaling is that God can speak back to you through what you write. He can fill your words with His spirit.  Here's a quick primer on journaling from New Hope in Oahu.

Writing in a diary is frustrating for me as I never keep it up as I expect to; so journaling is the answer for me. I've especially enjoyed writing about trips or events.

Here's another aspect of journaling which makes it different from writing in a dairy/daily: it can be a dialoge w/yourself if you choose to write not events but thoughts, ruminations, ideas, insights. Seems I journal sporatically--re: a special event, life passage or actualy physical journey. For example, when I took a West Coast trip via Amtrak which involved learning about new territories, visiting friends, attending a conference, I typed my handwritten notes & then was able to include them in a scrapbook I made w/photos, museum flyer & restaurant menus. I love re-visiting my experiences when I look at that scrapebook. kjc
